Useful sites to look at for Herts transport.

For those of you with UH Herts. in mind as from Sept., here are a couple of useful links as to local/area public transport to go on with:

https://www.unobus.info
https://www.intalink.org.uk

Keep in mind although next door, just about most of Hertfordshire does not come under Transport for London (TfL) control, but that of Hertfordshire County Council (HCC). Bus services are run as either commercial stand alone by the bus companies themselves, with a reduced amount underwritten by either HCC or other sources such as 106 developer funding.
This can lead to some anomalies in the North London - Herts border area, e.g, the UNO 610 which runs from Cockfosters (Mon-Friday, Potters Bar- UH-Luton only Sats.) to Luton via the UH is does not accept TfL Oysters, but the 298 ( Potters Bar - Cockfosters - Arnos Grove) which as from last week UNO are contracted by TfL to run does. The UNO 614/44, part of which runs in TfL land from Barnet to Edgeware and Queensbury is similar, but I believe does accept Zip Oysters only.

UNO are amending their timetables as from Sep., so check on these when available.

🙂 Many thanks for that. More info. to come shortly when time allows. There is also a link to the Hatfield Association of Rail Travellers (HART) who have a lot of useful info,. but I deleted this from my original post above, as unlike in my previous posts the link didn`t work. Will investigate.
You may have seen in the media- it made national news as well- that Sullivan Buses who operated at least a dozen North London routes under contract to TfL pulled the plug at something like six hours notice following ongoing issues after a crunch meeting with TfL Officers on Friday 02nd.Aug. Thankfully, and after some frantic re-arranging, alternative operators (such as UNO with the 298) these routes are now once again operating a near or normal service. Google in Sullivan Buses /latest news.
I am no stranger to the UH by the way, having worked there as as a senior TO in the School of Engineering and studied to HNC level part time.
