Foundation law

Do you guys recommend to do a foundation year?
I wanna go to my dream uni but I cant meet their grade requirements, but I can meet the foundation year requirement and then do a 3 years after that. Or go to another uni that is decent but isnt what I been looking forward to.
I mean if the foundation year gets you in to your dream uni, it sounds like a good option to me.

Have you checked the criteria and statistics of progression? Some univs are very demanding - 80% overall. Some foundation programmes (e.g. Warwick, UCL, Cardiff, QMUL and SOAS) are also accepted by other univs (Manchester).

Can I ask why it's your dream uni?

I would shop around for universities that offer the foundation year course and see what their entry requirements are. I'd also like to point out that we have spaces on our law course which is 3 years and the entry requirements are very, shall we say lenient 🙂

I may be able to help as I completed a foundation year before my law degree. Which Uni are you looking at?

HI @Reta-308

If it is the uni you want to go to then doing the foundation course may be a good idea. An additional year at university will not hold you back and is a short period of time in the long run. It also may give you the additional skills to then do better in your undergraduate degree rather than rushing onto a different undergraduate course now at a different uni. It is worth checking the pass rate of the foundation course and the content to check that you will enjoy it and think you have a good chance of passing it to then progress onto the 3 year course you originally wanted to enrol on.

Good luck!
