STP Application

Hi,
I have just graduated from Biomedical Science and I am thinking of doing a master's. My end goal is the STP however I know you are more likely to get on with higher education/ experience. Uni of Liverpool offers an MRes in Clinical Sciences and I wonder whether this is a good option as I know the STP also is technically a masters in itself. Has anybody done this before/ know whether or not this is a good option? Thanks

It is true that you're more likely to get accepted into the STP with more experience, whether this is in education or the workplace. A lot of candidates will have masters or PhDs under their belt, so while this isn't a requirement (people do get accepted with just a BSc), it certainly won't hinder your application if you want to do a Masters.

I'd recommend applying to the STP in the next round of applications - but also having a contingency plan. Thousands of people compete for very few places. Successful applicants will often apply several years in a row before finally being accepted.

The STP includes an MSc, so I wouldn't do an MSc specifically to get onto the STP, you'll be better off looking for relevant work experience.
