My experience applying for Primary Education at BCU through Clearing

Hi, I’m Sophie, a Primary Education Student at BCU who got a place on the course through clearing.

I went through clearing as I had decided that I wanted to switch courses in August after applying for a different course at BCU. As I already had my results, I was able to apply online through the BCU website before results day. I then quickly got offered an interview which took place a few weeks later.

My interview was a really positive experience. It was online through Teams. I had to answer a few questions about myself and share how I would use an object to teach a lesson. Then I had the opportunity to find out a little bit more about the course and ask my questions. After my interview, I got an email to say that I had a place on the course and then was able to switch it over on UCAS.

The whole experience was really straight forward and everyone who I spoke to from BCU was friendly and helpful.

You can use this link https://bit.ly/3S5c3wX to find out more about the courses that BCU has available in clearing this year!

Let me know if you have any questions about clearing!

How was the timetable like ?

How was the timetable like ?

Hi @Bismah18

Most weeks I was timetabled to be at university 9am-2pm 2 days a week however this did vary throughout the year. For example, I was in uni for year group meetings and briefings some weeks in addition to the normal days. I also had about a month where I was in for 4 days a week as we did 2 modules at the same time.

When I was on placement, it was initially for one day a week alongside university and then we spent most of one half term at school full time.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Sophie.
