Transcript Delay Affecting Grad Job Start Date

Hi there,

I’m currently in a situation where I had to resit an exam due to illness, and my results won’t be available until mid-September. My graduate scheme starts on the 5th, but the job offer is conditional on having completed my degree before starting.

Has anyone faced a similar situation? What was the outcome when they informed their employer about the delay?

It doesn't really matter what happened when someone else told their employer -- what matters is what happens when you tell your employer.

I recommend that you get in contact with your graduate scheme as soon as possible to talk to them about your situation. You need to accept that the conditional nature of the offer is non-negotiable and that they might withdraw the offer as you won't have completed your degree. At least that way you'll know where you stand and can start looking for something else to do.
