BCU biomedical science - advice please

What’s the course like?
On average how many times do you go in a week ? What’s your timetable like - I need help with this as I have problems and need to discuss with my tutor
How many labs a week?
Are lecturers any good?
I’m really anxious and I research prior to new things but I can’t find any information
Any former students please help ?!

Okay, slow down - deep breaths.

Biomed is going to have quite a lot of contact time, it wouldn't surprise me if you were in every day.
"Are lecturers any good?" - this is a subjective question, all university courses require you to take ownership and self-study in your own time. Teaching staff are there to help and guide you, ask them questions and they'll be happy to help. But they aren't going to prescribe what you need to do.

@BCU Student Rep, do you have anyone with Biomed experience / friends who are doing Biomed and could share example timetables & other advice please?

Hi @Aninymouse

I know it can be stressful waiting on timetables and course info - I've been there myself. Most courses release timetables at the beginning of September, which I know feels like an agonizing wait, but from experience, it works out okay when you get started.

I'll try to find out the contact hours for Bio-med courses, which will let you know roughly how much time you'll be in for teaching for your course.

Try not to panic. I understand wanting to have everything planned out and prepared, I like to do the same.

@04MR17 is right about your lecturer question. Each tutor on your course will have their areas of expertise, and some you'll probably prefer more than others, like you probably did with teachers at school. But there'll all be able to teach and guide you throughout your course.

Try to hang on for now. I know you said you need to discuss some things with your tutor, is this something you could discuss over email before you start? If you need some contact details for your tutors, you can find them on the Bio-Med page on the BCU website, or send over a DM and I can give you the relevant details.

Hope this helps. 🙂

@Aninymouse It's no trouble! I appreciate you want to be best prepared for when you start.

If you need any of the contact details I mentioned, just send a DM to @BCU Student Rep and I can send those over.
