How long does QMUL take to release a decision on a postgraduate application?

For context, i’m an international student and I applied to the Global Public Health and Policy MSc for the September 2024 intake at QMUL. It’s been about 3-4 working days since I submitted my complete application with all required documents but no decision yet. I know they say it takes 4-6 weeks to release a decision but that timeline would not make sense for an international student who also has to secure a CAS and a student visa. Also their overseas application deadline for the september 2024 intake is 2nd September 2024. Such a late deadline would imply that they issue offers/decisions relatively quickly so that international students can secure a CAS to start in that intake. Just wondering how long it took other offer holders on the same course to receive an offer?

They try to be relatively quick with their offers. How quick will depend how busy they are. You were, sadly, unfortunate enough to apply in what is probably the busiest week of the year for the admissions department.

Yeah, I figured the delay in application assessment has to do with A level results and clearing going on right now. It was mentioned on the QMUL applicant portal as well that ‘there may be delays in application assessment from 9th August-15th August due to UCAS embargo restrictions and clearing activity’ and I had submitted my complete application on the 9th of August itself. So I kinda fell exactly into the busiest week timeline. But now 15th August has passed too and I’m really hoping for a decision by Monday :frown: Can’t delay it longer since I have to get a CAS and apply for a student visa as well.

I’m surprised clearing is affecting postgraduate applications too though. I assumed they must have different teams working on undergraduate and postgraduate applications.

I did! I’ve actually been studying at QMUL since the course started in late September 2024  I’m halfway done with the course at this point too!
