Need help with decding/clearing

Results day is tomorrow and I still can't decide between two universities. I went through UCAS Extra, so I hold one firm offer (no backup) to study business management with a placement year at Cardiff University. The other university I've been looking at is Queen Mary, University of London which I'll have to go through clearing to enter. Both courses sound amazing to me, I'm local and im aware Cardiff will be significantly cheaper, but I feel that London has so many more opportunities for me due to how it's the business capital, all the big business headquarters are there. There is a significant amount of businesses in London compared to Cardiff. I've lived in Cardiff my whole life so do I stay here? or do I go to London? Is Queen Mary better than Cardiff? I don't mind the significant increase in the cost of living in London but I don't want to go there if it's not worth it, so which university do I go to? would I be better in London? due to how it is regarded as the business capital? or would it be better to stay in Cardiff? which university is better?

Thank you
Are you confident in getting the required grades? Obviously, no one will know until tomorrow but it's worth contacting Queen Mary today and discussing your options with them. Tell them what you expect to get, and ask them if they think you would be a suitable applicant tomorrow if you get those grades. If Cardiff offers you a place tomorrow and then you release yourself into clearing then if things do not go right with Queen Mary there is no guarantee that Cardiff would take you back so be careful and only decline your place when you have an offer from Queen Mary.

Sounds like a plan and goes without saying best of luck with your studies wherever you do decide to go!

I haven't studied at either of them but do the modules at either of them stand out more to you? There is def more businesses in London, but there are also a lot more people fighting for places to work with them. Do you want to move to London after uni? If yes, then I'd say go for it and start making those connections, but if you want to stay local then stay in Cardiff and get connections there to fast track yourself after uni.

No not really but overall they modules at both sound amazing to me,Its purely coming down to if one university is better than the other. Im not sure if i will move to London after uni, it'll probably be more benfiical if i did, plus i'd learn a new area compared to staying in cardiff which i know completely. Yeah so there are more opportunites but there are also more people fighting for these opportunities, haha im really stuck now, but thank you so much for your help, i still have a day to decide, i just ned to phone Queen mary and see what they say
It's such a difficult decision so you are doing the right thing by taking your time. I applied through clearing for a whole new uni in a different city as well, this was 9 years ago now, but I know how hard it can be. I went with my gut feeling but either way, as you say give Queens a call and go from there.

Best of luck with everything wherever you decide and if you need help after tomorrow, just remember we are all here too help where we can! 🙂

I did thank you very much🙂 I decided to stick with cardifff, make connections here, maybe work? but for my placement year I plan to move to london and get placement there hopefully. After that, depending on what I think of London potentially move there for good? but thats a long way away so I'll need to think about that haha. Thank you for asking and I hope you've had a nice day too!
