Is it OK to go on holiday before highers?

My grandparents are taking me on holiday for my 16th. I am going into my higher year and the holiday would happen before the easter holidays meaning I would miss 11 days of school, i would still be doing the work in the morning and catching up with classes but I don't know if it's worth it? Should I say no to save them their money or should I go and just work hard from the beggining so it's not as hard. I need to get all A's this year but I've wanted to go to this country all my life so what should I do?

That's a really tricky position - and not great timing in the year for it to happen either. There is no easy answer here as neither scenario is ideal. :frown:

@1582, what do you think?
That's a lot of school to miss not long before your exams. Could they take you at a different time (eg. at the start of the summer holidays or something)? I'd be asking that if possible

No unfortunately I've asked 100 times but they said either go or don't go they can't do anything else :frown:
I wouldn't suggest it. At my school (I'm staff not a pupil) those last few weeks before Easter are crunch time to get you through any remaining assessed coursework and catching up on missed content / going over things the class generally struggles with.

Thank you so much
