Second masters loan If I failed at my first masters

Hi all,

As the question states, I have failed two modules of my masters during 2022-23 term and got awarded a postgraduate diploma but I did not attend my in-person exams due to really bad mental health conditions where I was staying in my bed all day and crying for no reason ( sorry if this is too much). Could anyone please tell me is there any way that I could get student finance again to complete those modules as I am not in a position to self fund it

Kind regards,
applekou

Hi there,

Normally Postgraduate Master's Loan is a one time only product. Did you suspend or withdraw from your course?

Thanks,

No I didn't suspend or withdrew from my course. I just failed my course due to mental health reasons, but i didn't inform anyone but I am ready to provide any evidence required. Could you please let me know if there is any way that I could resit those two modules?
Hi applekou,

If you have completed the course and did not withdraw and are looking to repeat modules of your course to gain the full Master's qualification after completing the course but gaining a PG Diploma then we will not be able to fund this.

I really do not understand the logic behind this, how am I eligible if I withdrew from the course due to mental health reasons but not eligible If I failed the course due to mental health reasons. it's so unfair
Hi applekou,

If you completed the course but did not graduate with the grade you wanted we cannot offer funding to resit this, if you withdrew from the course and did not complete it this would be a different scenario.

Thanks,
