english language coursework help?

hi I’ve started my english language (AQA) coursework (language investigation) and I THINK i’m doing ok with it - I’m doing convergence in speech - but I was wondering if anyone would be willing to read over it and provide advice and tips because I just feel so lost on it, thank you so much

Hey. I just got my results today for AQA A Level English Language and got A* 453/500 with 96/100 in my NEA (49/50 in the investigation part) so if you need I'd be happy to take a look. My biggest piece of advice for it is read the assessment objectives specific to the NEA over and over till its in the back of your mind when you are writing it and so youre naturally hitting the criteria. Also, LOTS and LOTS of theory. Go very in depth. Don't just dump as may theorists as you can. The less that are in a great amount of depth is much better than lots not in much. I had about 6-7 in mine but I went very in detail to their studies. With that said, link your theorists. Use them to challenge each others views, so counter some of your theorists to explain why one view is stronger than the other. Go into potential limitations (although do this so its still in relation to your question don't just do random limitations for the sake of it, i.e the theory is old, try make the limitation tailored to your actual question.) And finally, use the word corroborate a lot! (just another word to say supports.) So whilst you counter some theorists also use some of them to corroborate each other. !
And finally, make sure your theorists are as relevant as possible to your question. In my drafts I had to delete a few as whilst I made good points out of some, it can begin to become too waffly if the theory is a bit far-fetched and not fully related to the Q.

It was very worrying for me for a while but honestly the fact you're starting now/already have started is amazing and if you just consistently keep reviewing it each week for an hour or two from now making changes you will be in a great position!
Honestly, getting the coursework out the way with high quality was such a big pressure reliever for me when it came to the exam considering the coursework entirely (inc the original writing and commentary) is 100 of the 500 marks in total, so it can make a difference. This year the grade boundaries went up by 20 marks for some for AQA English Language! Crazy numbers, so the NEA is definitely worth getting right!
