Computer Science Supercurricular

Would starting a website development company be a good supercurricular if I was planning on applying to a computer science degree in a top university? Also are there any other supercurricular that you would recommend doing to give me the best chance of getting accepted.
Thanks

Hello @WillThomas_0,

Starting a website development company is an exciting and smart move! If you're looking for more advice on applying to computer science programs, we’ve put together a study guide that could be really helpful for you! You can read it here: https://bit.ly/3TrrFLd

Have you thought about where you’d like to study yet?

Thanks,

Becky

From a person who has just graduated with a Masters in CS: definitely, if you have the time! Although if you're applying for the top top unis, they might prefer to see you flex your aptitude in mathematics or CS through your personal statement by attending public lectures, doing extra study/personal project, or even coding something up (that is somewhat complex but not a website).

I learned web development in my first year, and it was never mentioned again - it is not terribly impressive to show yourself off using this, but it could do the job.

Also, going to free summer schools may be helpful in showing your interest for CS/maths in the extracurricular context. Unis hold those pretty often, you just have to do the research.

Good luck!
