A level maths tutorials online

Hi can anyone who did EdExel A level Maths recommend any good online tutorials to watch that run through the syllabus topic by topic. My son is struggling with A level maths but is a really good auditory learner and thinks he might benefit from revisiting the topics again in a video to consolidate his understanding. Any suggestions gratefully received. Many thanks.

Many thanks

As well as the other vidoes/question banks/.... and the other posters suggestions theres also
https://www.mathsgenie.co.uk/newalevel.html
which is a decent starting point as for each topic you have a video - questions - solutions, but the others are probably more comprehesive.

As mentioned above, I found the channel TLMaths on youtube really useful when doing my Alevels 🙂 https://youtube.com/@tlmaths?si=-AsShOFswn3BxvwY

Another note here, since other posters have already provided with a plethora of resources.

There is no escape from learning maths by picking up some pens and paper (or their digital equivalent) and just doing it. Learning maths is like learning how to ride a bike - you don't simply watch videos or read books to learn how to ride a bike, you ride a bike (and fall a million times) to learn how to ride a bike. Understanding comes with countless practice. I assume you know this already, but I think it's not a bad idea to further highlight the importance of having a go at attempting problems, even if you don't understand the topic at all - just like the first day at a new job.

If get stuck, I'd say (i) reviewing relevant materials (textbook/Google/YouTube is good, ChatGPT is dubious but good enough if you actually check its answer), usually there are worked examples there; and (ii) discussing with someone (be it his instructor, his peers, or here in TSR) about the problem would be best.

Thank you very much. Good advice.

I agree about doing questions and don't look up answers immediately if he gets stuck.

Two I'd recommend:
Dr Frost: https://www.drfrost.org/courses.php?coid=12814 and https://www.drfrost.org/courses.php?coid=12815

I also like MathsMadeEasy: https://mmerevise.co.uk/a-level-maths-revision/ [free stuff - revision and worksheets]

Hello! Imperial College London have a free online self-paced course for year 13 students. They cover most of the topics in the year 13 syllabus. Here is the link:

https://www.edx.org/learn/math/imperial-college-london-a-level-mathematics-for-year-13-course-1-functions-sequences-and-series-and-numerical-methods?index=undefined

I'll also recommend a few YouTube channels I used as part of my revision:

BicenMaths
TLMaths
Examsolutions

BicenMaths also has a google document which is accessible through his YouTube channel profile. There are many resources including questions in order of topics for both year 1 and year 2.

Practise questions is fundamental to doing well in maths as it is an application based subject so I recommend he does as many questions as he can to expose himself to as many scenarios and apply himself so he becomes more confident.

Here are some websites I also used as part of my revision:

Yorkshire maths tutor
A Level maths revision
PMT
Isaac Physics

Best of luck to your son and remember practise makes perfect!

Edit: Turns out Imperial also have a course for year 12 students
