clearing 2024

I've been checking UCAS clearing and some of the courses that were on clearing about 2 days ago have disappeared? Also when I check clearing courses on UCAS,the grades requirement is just the same as the entry requirements, but I thought clearing courses usually lower the grades. Is there any point in applying if my grades are lower than the entry requirements?
Thanks

Hi, courses may go in and out of Clearing as places are filled and more places become free (especially tomorrow when England, Wales and NI all get their results)!

It's quite normal for unis to use their standard entry requirements for Clearing applicants too. Generally you'd look to speak to the uni over the phone before actually applying through Clearing, so you could discuss whether there's any leniency in their entry requirements and whether it's worth applying.

The grades are not lowered, as there will be people who missed a higher offer but still match the standard offers of other universities. Many will accept people with grades below their entry requirements, and it's 100% worth a try; just make sure to be quick to call them
All Unis will be updating their websites this evening and/or first thing tomorrow - and some course may even be withdrawn from Clearing just before phone lines open tomorrow.

Check carefully on the Unis own website - not UCAS - before you call them.
Make sure its not just for 'International applicants only'.
I don't understand how clearing courses are being filled?? results day is tomorrow, is it international students filling these places in

Unis have just spent 5 days processing A level results and filling as many spaces as they can or want to. 'Clearing' is what is left - and obviously those final decisions will not have been made until this afternoon.
