Do certain A level bio exam board have a 25 markers etc?

Hi I'm going into yr12 this September and I have heard and would like to confirm if this is true that AQA a level bio has a 25 marker? Do any other exam boards doing bio a level have questions over 10 marks? And chemistry (just to be safe)?

Thank you in advance xx

For AQA Biology in Paper 3 there is a 25 marker.

I think the other exam boards have multiple choice questions instead of the essay

For context I do AQA a-level biology

I see thank you xx! What are the 25 markers on about exactly if you don't mind me asking?

The questions usually begin with "explain the importance of... " I must admit, I don't know much about the 25 markers as I haven't learnt about it in much detail yet. However, I recommend the Ms Estruch Biology (on YouTube) video on 25 markers as it gives an overview on how to answer the questions. It's a good introduction to the essay and could answer any questions you may have :-) Sorry I couldn't give a better answer to your question, I just don't want to give you any wrong info 😅

there's a 25 marker where they ask you about the importance of a certain biological system, compound, etc (for example, the importance of nitrogen-containing compounds) and all you have to do is choose around 5 topics across the spec and write some AO1 and AO3. the AO1 would be your core knowledge (e.g. DNA as a nitrogen-containing compound) and the AO3 would be the importance (e.g. why is DNA important).

I see - I was curious on what they could possibly ask a 25 marker about thank you xx

They can ask them on basically anything, they're usually very broad in terms of things you can discuss. E.g. explain the importance of ATP
