The Student Room Group

Do Unis actually give less consideration to those who apply after the October window?

I've been told I'm less likely to get my choices if I apply after October. Is this true? My teachers say it will, but my peers don't agree with it.
Your teachers are talking nonsense. Probably to encourage students to get their applications done and dusted.

You are considered exactly the same so long as you apply by the late January deadline. (Excluding oxbridge and a small number of courses like medicine.)

Another voice telling you that your teachers are talking cobblers.
We don't play games trying to work out who applied for Oxbridge or not - we don't care.

As long as you apply before the appropriate deadline, you will get 'equal consideration' from your Unis.
The only advantage with earlier application is that you might get an earlier decision - but it wont be a different decision.
