Clearing via live chat (A-level results day)

Some universities in clearing have a live chat open as well as the clearing phone number on results day. Should I use their live chat or stick to the phone number? Live chat could be a lot easier.
You'll still be queueing to get through.
And hopefully you won't need it,
A phone call will be a lot quicker (queuing time notwithstanding). They’ll just ask you scripted questions so it’s not stressful.
Live chats are usually just a bot/AI not a human.

Morning @capricut2375

How are you feeling today?

If you don't get through on the phone, you could definitely try the live chat feature on uni websites, it should be easy to find. I'm not sure which ones would be robotic/AI, but I know some uni live chats do have real people behind it, for example our enquiries team use live chat, so hopefully you can speak to a real person.

Do let us know how you get on with it, and good luck!!

Hey @capricut2375 👋

If I was you, I'd probably try calling the phone number first as I assume that most of the admissions team will be on hand with phone calls, and a smaller amount of live chat. Alternatively, you could call the number whilst queuing for the live chat at the same time on a desktop to see which you can get through to first.

Best of luck today, be sure to let us know how you get on!

Hi @capricut2375,

It's up to you how you want to contact the university, some people prefer talking to someone over the phone whilst others don't. I'd recommend you try calling up your universities first and see how busy the lines are, phoning up is usually quicker. The teams are really friendly and are here to help you so don't worry, take your time and listen carefully as they will ask you some set questions about yourself and your qualifications.

Wishing you all the best,
Sarah
