To enter clearing, you need to decline your current offers. How come you want to choose clearing over your insurance?

To get a full picture, which course and university are you talking about if you don’t mind sharing

My main offer is for medicine at Lancaster it requires really high grades
And my insurance is biology at Kcl

I’m hoping to get into Lancaster medical school
but just in case of a back up plan I was looking into clearing computer science at Queen Mary as I’m not sure what I would do with a biology degree.

But I’m confused on how I would know if I have a chance of getting into the new clearing course
Because then declining an insurance offer without knowing I have an offer from clearing would be terrible.

Wait until you receive your results to make a decision.

How come you want to do a different course instead of Medicine if you don't meet your firm requirements? Is a gap year not an option?

If you don't think you'll want to do a biology course, then it's best not to.

I think I was very lucky to get into medicine this year and the admission test I gave (bmat) to get into Lancaster is being discontinued next year.
I will have to do the ucat (different admission test) if I take a gap year and I didn’t do that well on it this year and I know I won’t next year as well since it’s essentially like an IQ test.
If they were keeping the bmat I would reapply as it is an admission test more suited to my abilities.

I just applied to biology because it matched with my medicine personal statement my actual back up choice would be computer science.

I guess I’ll wait and see what my results are today and then decide.
Hopefully I’ll get into medicine

Thank you for your help btw

Fingers crossed! Try to get some sleep, even if it means just closing your eyes and playing some music :hugs:

aleeha_55 We hope you got the results you were aiming for. At the University of Wales, we offer a course in medical sciences. It's a route onto graduate entry medicine. There are options available to you, should you wish to explore them. Wishing you the best no matter which path you choose. Leanne ☺️
