Do I have a chance at top universities?

I'm predicted A*A*A in Maths, further maths and computer science.

7766665554 at GCSE

Working at a 7.5 - 8.0 in the TMUA

I want to apply for a maths degree at top universities (Cambridge, Imperial, Warwick, ucl, kcl) and wondering if I realistically have a chance to get in with my GCSEs. My school achieved below average for GCSEs, this should help?

I have a good personal statement filled with super curriculars and an excellent reference from my maths teacher. Could I make it to the interview stages?

I've achieved 3A* in maths, further maths and computer science. I got 7s 6s and 5s at GCSE and was wondering if I can still go LSE even though they want majority 7s and above (I got majority 6s and 5s). I've seen people get into LSE with AAA-ABB but with good GCSEs so could I get in with the opposite? Surely 3A* trumps all 9s at GCSE?

Awesome, couple more questions:

Are you a UK student?
What time did you get your results?
Have you tried calling LSE to ask if they have a space?

I didnt apply as my predicted grades were quite bad, I was wondering if I had a chance if I applied 2025 as they ask for a strong pre 16 academic record.

Wow so that was a nice surprise for you today?

Just to confirm - are you wanting to go to uni this year at all or deffo want to wait until next?

I noticed you posted your results quite early this morning, candidates weren't supposed to be given them until 8am which is why I'm going to ask again if that's okay: what time did you get your results? :colondollar:

Okay I've just realised we've got two separate threads going on so I've merged them together

Can I just triple check what we're working with:

- You're a UK student
- You have achieved A*A*A - results received at 5am this morning
- Your GCSEs are 7766665554
- You want to do Maths at Cambridge et al

Your GCSEs will not be holding you back from this. If you are rejected it likely won't be as a result of the GCSEs. :nope:
The A Level predictions are going to be weighted much more, unless a uni publishes specific GCSE requirements - there aren't any.

I would recommend applying to a range of universities, there are some really competitive ones you're looking at and it's awesome but I'd include at least one with lower typical offer grades to allow you a bit of breathing room when it comes to firm and insurance offers
