I believe I was close to the grade boundary for an A*, would it be worth it getting a remark?
Please do note that 'remarks' are not actually remarks - it is a review of marking only and not a new marking of the paper, meaning that the marks will only be adjusted if they seem incorrect or unreasonable. Marks can also go down as well as up.
Having a high A grade is fantastic, so I would say that unless a university offer is at stake, there is little point going through the process.

I'd add to this that if you are considering it because it does make a difference, your school can request a copy of the script first to look over and see if there are any likely errors.
If it wouln't change your ability to go to your firm uni though, our strong advice would be to swallow your pride and settle for the A.

Do you know how far off an A* you were? If you were off by 1 - 3 marks, it may be possible to get the A* grade through a remark.
If you have no idea, then email your chemistry teachers to ask them to access your scripts to check the marking against the MS. They will find out your total mark and if they find things you could gain the required marks from, then a remark may be well worth your time- especially if a uni offer counts on it.

Hi, just curious, why is that your strong advice?
They are sitting on a strong A, so unlikely to go down and let's assume they can afford it.

Unlikely is not impossible – whereas if the firm uni have accepted them then there's a 100% chance of keeping that uni place with the grade as it is now.

Did you have looked on the lessons for chemistry A levels and the requirements to get an A*? I would do it before you decide to try to gain a better mark. It may help you to estimate your skills by yourself.
