A-Level Results Day and Clearing 2024

Hello everyone!

With it being A-Level Results Day today, we want to ensure you have all the information you need about Clearing here at the University of Glasgow.

This process allows you to apply for courses where you either don’t hold any offers or don’t meet your conditional offers.

Information on our clearing vacancies can be found at this link: https://www.gla.ac.uk/study/clearing/. Here, you can view vacancies for rest of UK students, and can apply directly on our web page.

If you have any questions about Clearing, our hotline will be available today from 8am to 6pm. You can reach us at 0141 330 2999.

For the days ahead, this hotline will be open on:
Friday 16th August from 9am-4pm
Saturday 17th August from 10am-4pm
Monday 19th August from 9am-5pm

Clearing is now open following results, and will close on 21st October. Accommodation is guaranteed to new students joining us through Clearing, and you can apply for this as soon as you have accepted an offer from us.

Best of luck for your results day and academic journey ahead, and we hope to welcome you to the university soon!

UCAS is still showing "Waiting for Confirmation" I messaged them and they said I would be on a priority list for this afternoon. Anyone else have the same issue?

Hi there,

Firstly - congratulations on your offer, we can't wait to welcome you to the university soon!

After you have submitted your provisional offer online to UCAS, we aim to confirm this within 24 hours. The team are working hard following results day to process as many as possible.

Can I check if this has now resolved and is showing as confirmed? If this has not, please contact our Clearing hotline using the information above and we can ensure that this is reviewed as soon as possible.

If you have any other questions, please do get in touch here as we will also continue to monitor this thread throughout today and the weekend.

Hi accepted my insurance place for Uni of Glasgow on Thursday. I have just applied for accommodation as soon as I could but the email says 1st year accommodation isn't guaranteed. How quickly will we know whether there is a place in halls?
The email from university talked about looking for alternative options but think that is just the standard message for those that hadn't confirmed their place by 14th July. Just wondering what the likelihood is of getting accommodation. thanks
