terrible as results?

hello, im a 2025 med applicant. im doing bio chem maths and im predicted A*AA. however, as my school made a 4th mandatory, i took economics at as level. today i got my as results and i got a D, im really upset with this results and im really worried this may affect my med application? can someone tell me if it will???

As far as I'm aware, it shouldn't affect your application. Confirm this by emailing a couple universities after today (they may be quite busy with applications at the moment)?
You only need 3 A-levels to apply to Medicine. Are you able to drop Economics for next year?

I’d say go for a remark, just got my results for bio, chem, econ full Alevel as well, got a ABB ( A in bio) which I’m happy with but was predicted AAA, teachers said AA*A* possible. I was 4 marks off an A in econ, so my school said they’d get it remarked for me and they’d pay for it too, since I was pretty close. I was told, across the 3 papers it’s possible to pick up 5ish + marks if lucky, but not sure how true it is (especially as marks can go down as well)😅 also as this wasn’t for AS but for alevel, so I’m not sure if it works differently. I’m studying biochem, so no idea how this would affect med student as well😅I’d say you don’t have much to loose tho, your either get a C or slightly lower D, but I don’t think unis go of actual mark, just letter rank (A,B,C,D, etc)

Yes I am going to drop it. I was just concerned because a teacher of my mine mentioned that it may affect my application.

Literally just got my results this morning and was worrying so much about it, such a relief to finally know!, I just did a BUNCH of past papers and exam questions for both, the website physics and maths tutor was very helpful as well, and I’m very lucky as my school payed for resources such as uplearn, which I found very helpful. Honestly though, the best advice I can give is just to get into a habit of doing a little something every day, like a couple exam questions and mind maps from memory and stuff like that. I found it a lot easier to study if I liked the place I studied in as well, I used to make myself some tea and light a candle and have snacks on hand to study, I’m sure you’ll do great tho!!!
