I received my A-Level results sheet today, paid to get one of my subjects remarked - if this grade changes do I get a new results sheet with the new grade?

Hi, hopefully you're aware that you can't have a paper re-marked? Only have a review of the marking (think VAR for an exam script, spotting any clear and obvious errors the original marker has made).

But yes, you'll get confirmation in writing if the grade changes :smile:

Yes, if your grade changes after the remark, you’ll get a new results sheet with the updated grade. Your school or exam center will send it out once the remark is finalized. Fingers crossed for the new mark—good luck!

When I had mine remarked, I didn't get a new results sheet, however I got a separate sheet confirming the grade change so you'd be able to give the old results sheet and the confirmation of change paper together to confirm your new grades. Obviously your certificates when they come will also have the new grade too :smile:

I didn’t actually know that, but since it’s an essay based paper they’ll have to read all my writings as you can’t just spot a mistake with markings for essays?

Yes – as you mention, the upside is that they will have to re-read the essay to decide whether the marks given are clearly and obviously wrong. The downside is that marking an essay is much more subjective than a question that's right or wrong, so it's harder to argue that an examiner has made an error.
