Should I take application of mathematics ?

I’m currently choosing my Higher subjects and I pan to do chem, Econ,math,physics,mandarin.
I’m struggling between English and application of maths.
As I wanna learn Econ in uni, I think application of maths would be more suitable for me, but I had was living in china before and just came back this year so my parents think I have to choose English to prove my English is good.
What should I choose?e

There are other ways to prove that your english is good, for example taking an IELTS exam.

Yeah that’s what I was planning to do, tho would it be weird for a home student taking ielts?

To who are you trying to prove that you speak english? The university will assume you do as a home student, it wouldn't be necessary to prove it to them.
