Clearing Advice - At Uni

Hello, i am looking at clearing as ive completed a year of uni doing a foundation year. I passed but i was looking at clearing and saw some unis i.e. leicester cs requiring grade CCC. I achieved BCE for alevels in Psychology, Biology, Chemistry. Would it be worth me applying and would my uni grade boost me evn tho its fy? On the FY course detail it does mention something about the modules can be credited by other unis or something. My problem with my current uni is that is going downhill in terms of ranking and overall staff etc. And also other uni locations are better suited socially and also more consistent unis. Advice needed

Hi, I think it'll be hard to find publicly available information about whether one uni in Clearing accepts foundation year modules from another uni, because it's quite an unusual situation.

You may be better placed directly contacting Leicester, or other unis you're interested in, as it'll be an atypical request.

ah i see, ngl that E in chem has messed me up otherwise i couldve directly applied and prayed 😂 would you know if the FY % would be useful if i was to transfer course within uni if its close linked or again would i be better of just asking uni directly. Should i call or email?

I would call the uni(s) you're interested in, have your FY results to hand for them, and see what they say.

Just give them a call, sometimes the clearing/admissions team will have some wiggle room on what they can accept. It could also be that if the academics are happy, they can give you an offer 🙂 There's no harm in trying and seeing what's out there 🙂

Yes, presumably if you did a FY the year just gone you didn't do a UCAS application this year?

Speak to the unis but then yes you would. You are able to reuse your PS from last year but you might want to update it with what you've covered in your foundation year.

But first step should be speaking to unis about the practicalities, if this is something you really want to do. You always have your existing course as a backup!
