Ucas points

I am a bit confused about my ucas points. I have 56 ucas points from 3 A levels. If I do access course, whatever ucas points I will get, are those gonna add with my 56 ucas point. Let’s say I get 64 ucas point. So when I apply for uni which ucas point is going to be considered. Or the total will be considered?

Access courses usually reduce the entry requirements for the uni in question. They do not add to your UCAS points. Some unis provide entry requirements in terms of UCAS points and some provide them in terms of grades, so do watch out for that.

Which courses/unis are you looking to apply to?

That means my a level grades will not matter anymore. My uni will depend on result of my access course. Is that right?

Could you now be more specific about what you mean in relation to 'access course', and which uni you are applying to? Do you mean a foundation course perhaps?

This would seem to be a course in its own right; I would say it works similar to a foundation course with a natural progression to adult nursing.

Yes the Access to HE Diploma is readily accepted by unis for healthcare courses and it is the grades from this, rather than your A levels, that will count for entry requirements. Are you 19 or over - this is usually a requirement of Access courses?
