Will I still receive an offer?

Hey i recently got my AS results and one of them was a total shock.
I’m studying chemistry, English literature, politics and ofc Welsh Bacc.
I got B,C,B and as a massive shock I got a U in chemistry.
If I resit the as exams next year will still receive an offer to study chemistry form the universities?

Hey @Josh_lee06

I'm sorry to hear about your unexpected chemistry result, especially when you're doing well in your other subjects. Resitting your AS chemistry exams next year is definitely an option, and many universities are open to students who improve their grades. Most universities make conditional offers based on predicted A-level grades and final results, so if you can demonstrate improvement in chemistry, either through resits or strong work in your A2 year, you can still receive offers for chemistry courses. It would be important to address the situation in your UCAS application, either in your personal statement or through your teacher's reference, to explain the circumstances behind the lower grade and highlight your commitment to improving. Different universities have varying policies on resits, so it's a good idea to research the specific requirements of the institutions you're interested in. Use the next year to focus on strengthening your chemistry knowledge, seek additional support, and ensure you're prepared for the resit. With determination and a clear plan, you can still work towards studying chemistry at university. Good luck.
