Bad EPQ grade- What can I do?

Today I received my EPQ grade, which was an E (I didn't get a mark because for some reason Eduqas doesn't do that) and disappointment isn't even the right word to use since all the work I put in was only worth 8 UCAS points. I was thinking of simply not adding my EPQ as a qualification for my UCAS application as it will look really bad, but I am also aware that the process is complicated and expensive.

Has anyone else gone through a bad EPQ grade? If so what did you do?
btw I'm considering medicine (either a transfer year or post grad- would my epq have an effect?)

You have to declare all your results on UCAS as otherwise it can be considered as fraud. I would recommend you speak to your teacher about your result if it was a shock. You may be able to request it back to see how it was marked and check for any errors.

I see, thank you! One last question, let's say I decided to drop my EPQ so it will no longer count as a qualification, could I still talk about it on my personal statement ? it is about eating disorders and mental health

You can't actually drop a qualification you have already completed, so of course you can discuss it in your personal statement.

Would a bad EPQ grade have an effect on my UCAS application? Because it will stand out in the worst way possible next to my other predicted grades

I would say it's unlikely if your other grades are good. Have you spoken to your teacher about considering seeing if there has been a marking error?

I have emailed my school asking to remark my EPQ as I am not happy with the results and at the moment I am hoping for a D (still not good, but it is better than an E :') )

Please do note that there is no longer such thing as a 'remark' - it is a review of marking and the mark will only be adjusted if it seems there has been an error or an unreasonable mark was given. However, given this was such a shock it may be worth doing anyway!
