Oxbridge vs other top Russell Group unis

I’m currently in the process of weighting up Cambridge or Oxford vs other Top Russel Group unis eg Edinburgh/Manchester and I was wondering if there is a massive difference when studying a Humanities degree (History and Politics). I know the course is better at Oxbridge unis but if I were to go to Edinburgh, for example, am I likely to have similar career prospects/ still a high level of education? Thanks
I wouldn’t worry quite so much about the rankings of the universities, but rather where you’d be the happiest. In terms of oxbridge, instead of focusing on the difference in ranking between these and other unis, I’d look more toward the unique way of teaching and whether you think this would suit you, or if you’d rather have the ‘normal’ way of being taught.

Oxford or Cambridge will only take one of your five choices so if you are really stuck for a fifth option then maybe you should apply and give it a go!

Russel Group - unis with high quality
The big difference is the tutorial system and the weekly essays. This makes for a much more intense and more individualised learning experience - being taught in that way isn’t for everyone but if it suits you it is fantastic. I’d say think about whether that is something you want. Also look at the structure of the courses and how they are assessed and think about what appeals to you most.

Your career prospects will be absolutely fine from somewhere like Edinburgh- it is a great uni.

Okay thank you that is really helpful advice, I’ll definitely think about that.

Okay thank you that is really helpful, that’s a good point to focus on the structure of the course/assessment as, at least for assessment, they are quite different
