Whether it was on purpose or completely by accident, you might be sitting at your laptop on this A Level Results Day with no offers from any universities you originally applied to.

It doesn't matter if you didn't plan for this because Clearing is your second chance. Look at it this way, you now have an abundance of university courses to choose from. Decisions, decisions, decisions – lucky you! But how do you find an option with quality teaching and flexible learning?

Here are some tips for going through Clearing with no offers.

📝 Draw up a shortlist of courses

Make a list of courses you’re interested in, including ones related to your original choices or alternative subjects you might consider.
Prioritise courses that align with your career goals and interests.

📞 Get in contact with the uni you want to apply to

In Clearing you'll want to get in touch with the uni directly. Note down the contact details (phone numbers, email addresses) for the admissions departments of the universities offering your chosen courses.

💬 Prepare for the call

You'll need to ask about course details, entry requirements, and available spots. Make sure you have your UCAS number to hand as well as your predicted or actual grades and be ready to tell them why you want to study on the course you’ve chosen!
