Which university for law should i apply to?!

Hi, I want to apply to university this coming cycle, to start in September 2025 for Law. I have predicted grades A*AB which puts me in a bit of a weird position because entry requirements for most universities are either AAA or AAB, so I'm either going too high or too low.
I know for sure that I want to apply to Glasgow and Lancaster, but I'm uncertain about the other three and was wondering if anyone had any advice on other universities it would be worth applying to with these predicted grades?
I also have a C in an AS, and 999988777 at GCSE, alongside a few solid supercurriculars.
Thank you!
Hiya, the general starting point is to look for one (maybe two) universities you’d apply to that are slightly ambitious, two or three that have requirements that meet your predicted grades, and then one or two that are ‘safe’ options. Your stats look very solid so well done on that!

I’d disregard a lot of what people say in relation to university rankings as the be all and end all in terms of law degrees. Look at places that you could genuinely see yourself studying at.

Think about your preferences- city or campus uni? Do you want to be really far away from home or quite close to home?
I’d also have a look at what modules each university offers, as that can be a good indicator of where you’d like to go. Unless you are applying to oxbridge, then you’ve a long time to make a final decision on the 5 you want to go with, so take your time choosing

Just make sure you check if any of the places you’re applying for require the LNAT or not.

Any questions, just ask as I’ve just finished my first year of law

Lancaster was in Clearing this year but the places filled up quickly.

SOAS, RHUL, Goldsmiths, Birbeck and Brunel here in London were also in UCAS Clearing 2024 but places got taken quickly.

Glasgow will require the LNAT.

Also, I wonder which A-Level subjects you're taking and what subjects you have the A*AB predicted? 😧

Hi
Congratulations on such amazing predicted grades! Lancaster is such an incredible university to study at, specifically for law. If you have any further questions about Lancaster or even law at Lancaster then feel free to ask away, I have recently graduated from our law school and have loved my time there!
To answer your question about universities, if you are wanting to apply for a uni with requirements of AAA, this could still be a possibility. Some unis will place a lot of emphasis on the personal statement, so if you do have supercurriculars then this would be a benefit to you. But also, your grades are equivalent to AAA, so also look into anywhere that looks at UCAS points instead of specific grades, as they might take your grades into consideration.
But also, you are usually advised to make one aspirational application, in which you apply for. a university that has higher grades than your predicted, therefore I would suggest if there is a uni that you are really interested in, don't let your grades put you off, as they could still accept you, based on other factors.

Hope this helps,

Thank you so much. Lancaster is definitely my top choice in the UK and I’m really hoping to get in. It’s very encouraging to hear you enjoyed the course for law

Yes I know about the LNAT for Glasgow, super nervous but hoping to do really well in it to get a boost on my application. As for my subjects;
A* - English
A - History
B -Computer Science
