Is City Law worth it

I received my results (BCC) and got an offer from City for Law LLB after missing my KCL Law offer.

Should I

- Defer my place for a gap year to apply for solicitor apprenticeships (got quite close this year with a couple assesment centres)

- Start city law in September

- Resit A levels

I am looking to break into commercial law having built up work experience at multiple law firms however fear City won’t give me the employability that’s desired by large city law firms

I think fundamentally you need to decide if you'd like to start uni in September or not. If you do choose not to go to City to do the law degree then it may be best to resit your A levels and apply for solicitor apprenticeships and/or uni again this year (if you still can't decide which route to take).

Whilst most firms don't specify minimum A Levels for their solicitor apprenticeships, these are competitive (especially for large city firms!) and having better A level results might improve your chances. I know some firms do expect applicants to have achieved or be predicated at least BBB, so at present you may have your options limited a little.

I'm aware it's a lot to think about!
Resitting was not recommended by my head of year as it is extremely costly and may not work out in the end. Can I still secure a training contract having studied at city?
