Yr13 Course resit

Is it possible to retake Yr13 course at state school/6th form college to get better grades if student is 18 at start of 3rd year of A-level study? Is course funding payable by LEA or personally? Our son passed but would like yo improve grades in same subjects.

State schools usually don't allow students to repeat a year if they passed their exams, however they should be more than happy to allow your son to resit the exams there (with your son studying independently or elsewhere)

Thank you. Does that mean that private 6th form college is only option for supported retake?

Well, I was having a chat with somebody at the office and apparently, you may be able to do a supported retake at your school - they didn't allow it in the area I went to school to but apparently this isn't the case everywhere. I would ask your son's school directly if he can do this.
