Absolutely fumbled and had terrible AS results

I recently got my results back and it has been horrid. I got:
U - Psychology
E- Sociology
E- Law

I actually really have never expected these type of results especially for psychology I was confident that psych would be the best and i would have the best grade on that, now that i have failed my AS exams my 6th form won't take me back in because i failed the entry the requirement which is 3 D's.

Now i'm also gonna ask for a remark on my psychology paper because its absolutely impossible that I've got an U for that when i have put the most time into psychology compared to psych and socio. Do you think going into college will bring me back as I have to do the year again while my friends would be in their last year of 6th form.

As this is for sixth form, I would discuss your results with them regarding what to do next as there is effectively no other option, unless you get given an exception.

With psychology, if possible, I would request to have your paper sent back to yourself and ask your teachers to go through it with you to see where you had issues and try and prevent these issues next year.

Personally I was NEVER good at exam technique and cost me in my A Levels (2 Us and a D) but I got into a Foundation Year and graduated with a 2.1 and a Merit in my MSc (both in Biomedical Science). It is possible you may have slipped up in the exam technique and just didn’t use the language which would have granted the marks?

Hope it works out for you!

I have discussed with my 6th form and unfortunately i can't get back in for year 13 as the entry requirements there to get into the next year is 3 D's. So they said I can do the year again in college which i have started applying for.

I just emailed my school and my teacher to get the paper back so i can reflect on my issues hoping to read good emails back regarding that. It may have been possible i slipped up by not using the language that may have gave the marks regardless thank you for the suggestion!

Sorry to hear that your results were lower than expected.

Instead of resitting, have you considered doing a foundation year? A foundation year bridges the gap between school and university, preparing you for the 3 years of degree study and is an alternative to resitting your A Levels.

What course are you interested in studying?

Hi i did my AS exams based on year 1 content not year 2 yet and I am 17 i don't think foundation year is eligible for me but resitting the exams is my only option unfortunately
