why do guys make a big deal out of girls wearing makeup?

idk, it's just odd to me. i wear makeup pretty much every day, not because im insecure but because it's fun, and a kind of ritual for me. and who wouldnt want to literally sparkle...?
but guys make out like im suuuper insecure for wearing it, fake and basically some catfish. like gurly, no...?!
it's so strange. like they're trying to be positive about girls, but in a toxic way. any real reason why they do this?
(and i know it's not ALL guys but it's certainly some.)

Maybe guys have been told by society nowdays that no makeup is actually a good thing and that girls who wear it are insecure? I dont think makeup at the moment is being seen as an art form or self expression. Or just worn because they love it! I think guys should just stop trying to assume reasons why people wear makeup because not everyone is the same in reasoning. Also, why does it bother them! We arent doing anything tthat hurts them!!!

If I told you I was 6 foot 4 and had a 6 pack earning £200K a year and it turned out to be a lie, you might wonder why I was lying to myself.
But I get it women wear makeup the same as men play video games, as an escape from reality.

There are different levels imo. Some women wear it because they are insecure, some because they think they will look better, some because it's expected of them, some because it's fun, some as a way to use art on their faces, some because they want to fit in with other girls. And some as an escape from reality.
If I'm being honest, I find most make-up styles OTT and frankly ugly. But as someone who continuously gets asked if I'm ok or tired, surely a touch of concealer under my eyes isn't lying? It's choosing what others can see.
But I think this analogy is more apt:
Wearing makeup is presenting yourself as something, as is wearing certain kinds of clothes. If you're going to work, you don't want to turn up in your worst clothes, or naked. It's like saying "you're lying by wearing clothes, you're actually naked".

Most people do wear clothes to make themselves appear different. Like personally idgaf as I wear grey shirts and jogging bottoms, but if I go to work, I wear a suit to give off an air of professionalism. You see how easy it is to fool people.
