Hey there :hello:
Congrats on your place at cardiff uni! Cardiff is such an awesome city, I am sure you will have the best time! :hugs:

I've moved your thread into the cardiff university forum so you can get a few more responses.
Just wondering if @5hyl33n might be able to help answer this question!

Best wishes,
Cheese

Hi there,

You can read about my experience with my first-year accommodation here. Essentially, there are many options for different budgets. Do require an en-suite or happy with a shared bathroom? Would you prefer a more social or a quieter accommodation? Would you prefer to be near the city centre? If you could answer these, I'll try to give you some suggestions based on this info.

Hiii, i would prefer an ensuite room with a social environment. Living near the city centre would be ideal!

That's great.

Talybont (Taly) is thought to be the most social (with more of a drinking culture etc). Taly South and Taly Court have en suites and are closest to the city centre (still a 25/30-minute walk).

Alternatively, Senghennydd Court has ensuites, is a few minutes from the main campus and city centre and is still social.

I hope that helps!

I don't personally know anyone who has lived there but the location is further from the city centre. Can I ask what you're studying?

Great! So you'll be based in ABACWS on Senghennydd Road, Cathays, Cardiff, CF24 4AG. This is closest to Senghennydd Court. But, if you prefer Clodien and don't mind the travel, it's not a bad option!

Hi there,

I had a shared bathroom but, to be honest, hardly noticed once I got there. In my experience, there was a fortnightly cleaner and everyone had mutual respect and I never had any issues. Let me know if you have any other worries!

Hi there,

I believe that Senghenydd Court does have a wired ethernet connection option in the room. To be sure, you can enquire at [email protected].
