HELP ! bioscience with foundation year

Has anybody taken this foundation year? Can you please give us more information? Is it easy to pass or harder than expected? I'm stressed because I don’t have much information.

Breathe, drink some water!

What is it you would like some reassurance with?

I don’t know much about what a foundation year entails. Not sure what to expect. Would it be easier or harder to pass a foundation year course? I need some advice.

You're likely to be on a course with others taking similar subjects for their full degree. You'd be taught more about the basic skills of research and what's expected at university level assignments to make sure that when you start first year, you don't struggle as much as you might if you were coming in straight from school with perhaps not the best set of results.

Generally the way I describe it is they will hold your hand more, but the expectations for work completed will be higher. When you're out of the foundation year, you are left to fend for yourself a lot more (with the option of seeking help if you wish to) but the pass mark is 40 and as long as you've managed that then you're through to second year.

That makes sense. Thanks for the help
