The Student Room Group

What are my chances of getting in UCL or KCL at 22?

I have A* in Maths, A* in Physics, and an A in Further Maths from 2021.

I have been out of education due to poor mental health but think I am interested in studying Computer Science in London.

I know UCL want their mature students to have been in education in the past three years. Would an Access course be okay for RGunis?

Does anyone have any guidance on this? I feel like my chances are zero because I'm older.

Hi,
I would say if you want to get into a top uni, email them to ask and explain your situation.
I believe they would give you leaway as I am assuming your situation might count as extenuating circumstances.
If you reapply, you will probably need to speak about your situation in your personal statement and show that you have been keeping up with educational things. e.g. you could do some MOOCs and put that on your personal statement to show educational engagement.
Hope this helps.
