Hi Ria! Hope you're well.

As a Liverpool John Moores graduate, I can safely say that it is a really great University! Liverpool John Moores University has recently placed second in the Uni Compare Top 100 University Rankings for 2025.
LJMU has risen two places in the overall rankings and is placed in the top 10 for its accommodation, course quality, employability and student life. The rankings use real reviews from both current students and recent graduates, with 99% saying they would recommend studying at LJMU. Hopefully these results speak for themselves!
LJMU has amazing, dedicated academic staff that care for their student's outcomes and support them wholeheartedly. As for our student services, we have a vast amount of support on offer from money advice to health and wellbeing. There is always someone on hand to help you at LJMU. We also have a great student's union with events happening all year long, and amazing sports clubs and societies for you to join!
We are rated gold for student outcomes, with 95% of LJMU graduates securing employment or get in further study 15 months after graduation. Our employability prospects are something LJMU prides themselves on.

As for the psychology course here at LJMU, it is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS), offers state-of-the-art facilities including a driving simulator and human performance lab, and the opportunity to undertake a 10-hour (minimum) work placement in your second year. I would recommend reading about the course content online to get a feel of the material and assessment methods used. Also, I would visit an Open Day here at LJMU where you can visit the psychology school and see for yourself our vast array of labs and apparatus alongside meeting some of our dedicated academic lecturers who would love to discuss the course with you further! Open Day information can be found on the LJMU website, where you can book yourself a place.

Hope this has been helpful, hope to see you at LJMU soon! 🙂

Hi Ria! I have just graduated in Psychology from John Moores in July this year. I honestly couldn't fault it and loved every minute of it. All of the lecture slides were uploaded and easy to access when needed and the lecturers were so helpful with any questions that any of us had.
The university itself is amazing with so much to do and a 24/7 study space. There are loads and loads of societies you can join to meet other students with similar interests (I was part of the pole fitness society for 2.5 years and a member of the psychology society for 2 years). The campus is right in town so it's close to anything you might need, and many of the buildings aren't too far yo walk,. Especially for the psychology degree all the buildings that my classes were in were less than a 5 minute walk from each other.
The uni also occasionally provides free lunch days and many activities for all students to join, even if you're not part of a society.
I would definately recommend it!
