Is it worth remarking chem a level

I do edexcel chemistry and I am one mark off a grade and how long does it take to get a remark

I'm not sure how long a remark will take, but IMO its almost always worth going for a remark if you are just 1 mark off the next grade. Remarks can often shift your final mark up (or down) by 1-2. If you lose 2 marks it won't be a big deal, but even gaining 1 mark gives you a higher grade. Even if it doesn't help you meet a university offer, a higher grade will still look better whenever a potential employer asks for your A-level grades.

Give your teacher permission to access your scripts and request they compare your given marks on each paper to the mark scheme (they will be able to access this on the edexcel website using their logins).

If they find something that might pick up that mark on a given paper, send that paper off to be re-marked

Apparently you should hear back within 3 weeks, but I guess it depends on whether you have a priority re-mark or not and how many others are getting re-marked.

I have priority remark, I really need them to reply asap for uni, some days they only take a day or two? 😭😭

It’s possible, but I wouldn’t expect anything tomorrow (as there will be a lot of papers needing re-marked and a lot of processing of requests to do) or the following two days (since examiners presumably don’t work on weekends).

I would say it should take 1 - 2 weeks
