Do I have to take English?

Hi,I didn’t take nat5 because i was studying in China that time. So this means that I don’t have a grade to prove my English.
As I know approximately all the unis requires an English grade.

So do I have to take English at higher or can I take other exams to prove my english(ie. Ielts)

I think you should take lelts or something similar recommended on the unis website to prove your English proficiency - check uni websites they should have it on course pages possibly in the entry requirements section - have a look around if you haven't already
Hope that helps xx

Thanks, so it is okay for home students to take Ielts instead of higher English?

Look at whatever that Uni's English Language requirements are - this will usually include IELTS, Cambridge English, Trinity, TOEFL and sometimes Duolingo. You would then just take on of these tests at some point next year. Example - English Language Requirements (warwick.ac.uk)

You might find just taking GCSE or IGCSE Eng Lang easier.

I'm not too sure about that but that should be okay. Email unis to double check if unsure because I think because you missed nat5 it should be fine

I'd agree - contact the Unis. Sometimes, if you are a British national, and you can show that you have English skills via essay-based subjects etc studied in English, then thats all you need.
