Strategic application for law??

I'm thinking of applying to Cambridge, LSE, UCL/KCL, Durham/Bristol, and maybe one non-lnat university, however these are all top schools, and so I don't know how likely I am to receive at least a few offers if I don't have any safety options, and would rather do a gap year than go to a low-ranking uni. Any tips on making a strategic application to the unis I mentioned based on my stats?

Stats:
Predicted - History - A*, Spanish - A*, Psychology - A*, Literature - A
GCSEs - 9999888877
Predicting LNAT to be in high 20s/low 30s (average of 23ish on Arbitio).

Well done on the amazing stats! I really would consider at least one or two ‘safe options’ when applying. Why are you adamant about not going to a ‘low-ranking’ university?

Also, I really would recommend that at least one of your options doesn’t require the LNAT, just incase you don’t do as well as you’d hope.

Hey! Do you recommend any programmes or summer schools/ workshops to attend during year 12 or 13. Im currently a yr11 student but I’d still like to get ahead. Also what a levels did you choose because I’m thinking of doing

English lit, history, maths, econ
or

English lit, history, philosophy, econ

but lots of people say you can go into finance if not law then. However I’m fairly adamant about doing law so idk(I also don’t like maths*I actually love doing it in my spare time but school maths is different).

It’s just that from what I’ve researched the majority of city law firms hire from the universities I mentioned, with some firms especially the U.S. ones hiring exclusively from Oxbridge or the top London unis.

Have a look at sutton trust if you’ve any criteria such as low progression to higher education, or free school meals etc. they do the pathways to law programme and summer schools

I would say you honestly don’t need four A levels if you can help it, it’s just added stress and no one expects four A levels from you

I would suggest that you apply for Cambridge and one of LSE/UCL/KCL to begin with and see what offers/interviews you get. You can then think more strategically about which other three choices to add before the Jan deadline.

i think if you're planning to apply "strategically", going for 2 london universities may not be the best choice: also, consider the fact that you don't get your lnat results until february. this is what makes it a little harder to apply for law strategically, because you don't know what marks you've got and what universities you can apply to with those marks. my teachers recommended to go for 3 lnat universities, 2 if you're keeping it extra safe: i think i'll only be applying to 2.
