St Dominic's Vs William Perkin sixth form

I can't decide on which one to go. I know that William Perkin secondary school is good but I am not sure about their sixth form and also the fact that it is new. I hope to study maths, f.maths, computer science and physics. Can someone please advise me on the one to go. I need to decide before results day next week.

hii i just completed y13 at william perkin and from the subjects u mentioned, i did maths and computer science.

i would say its sixth form is academically very good - they push you to get the grades you need/deserve from week 1 in year 12. that means a decent amount of homework each lesson but in the end it pays off, especially with the regular quarterly assessments we do in both y12 and 13. like, a level exams FOR ME didn't feel as nerve-wracking as they could've been because i had had sm regular practice with exams with the quarterly assessments.

one thing i would say tho, its quite strict even with sixth formers and if you get a certain number sanctions in a week you have to stay after school to study in silence for the week after. obvs in sixth form you need to be studying anyway but yk

no problem! imo yes the teachers are incredibly approachable, they want you succeed so a lot of the time, students stay after class if they want to ask questions. but i may be biased since im an internal student (ive been here since y7) so ik most of the teachers already. and yeah they are helpful in that sense but ofc a levels have such a rigid curriculum so you'll have to do most of the understanding yourself. especially for computer science tbh bc a lot of it is conceptual knowledge that might not stick after just 50 mins of a lesson.

ooh im not too sure about grades this year i haven't asked many people but i got A* in both, a couple other ppl got As and Bs but the grade boundaries in maths (AQA) were tight this year imo. tho generally, wp has rlly good a level results, i think there was a stat that 67% of students get at least one A! I attached a grade sheet from St doms but take these sort of comparisons with a grain of salt bc honestly your final grades come down mainly to your personal drive/motivation across the two years, especially since the schools both have decent reputations.
