Uni of Sussex - jobs in Brighton

Is it common for students to work in shops in brighton and just commute? I know that its a very short distance but how many people actually manage to get a job

I would assume many people find jobs in Brighton - the university is technically still in Brighton land, it's just based on the outskirt of it.

There are lots of shops and Tesco's and beginner job opportunities in Brighton, so a fair number of students should manage to get jobs.

Hello.

I knew people who went to both UoB and UoS and some of them worked in bars, night clubs, supermarkets and shops around the area whilst living in student accommodation in various living accommodations around the Brighton area. I did have some acquaintances from both universities that were struggling to find jobs at the end of their second year, but I assume they found one as they did not mention it in the final year.
