Resitting to apply for dentistry

I got BCC in my alevels and i am considering resitting next year to apply for dentistry but i am a bit unsure on how exactly this process works? WIll i be able to apply this October for 2025 entry even though my grades are quite far from AAA? Universities like Leeds allow resits for dentistry and do not have any minimum grade requirement that needs to be achieved on the first attempt, but i dont understand how they would even look at my application if i got BCC this year. Is it a case of doing my alevels next year and applying next year for 2026 entry? Please help i am super confused

Oh my goodness this is literally my EXACT situation except I got ACC I have no idea how the whole resitting thing works but I’m rlly passionate about doing dentistry so I have no choice.
We’re in the same boat lmao.
I believe they can use predicted grades again, cuz you’re retaking the a levels so you’ll have a predicted grade ygm. So it’s like how you applied for this cycle
I think, i could be completely wrong for all i know

Omg I'm glad I'm not alone on this !! I'm genuinely so lost. i think i might start biomed in September but resit my alevels at the same time. So just in case i get no offers or don't get 3 As the second time, i'm still in uni

Ohh that makes sense, thank you. I dont think ill be predicted AAA though so i might have to end up applying with my achieved grades instead

That means you’ll skip this application cycle And apply the following one. Why not do it with predicted

My school will only predict me one grade higher than what i got this year so ABB. I dont think ill be able to apply with that when most want AAA :frown:

you can do it independently? if not, speak to your teachers/head of year about your plans. They might consider it especially as your commitment is shown through the fact that you are resitting!
