ive been accepted for midwifery at dmu, just wondering if anyone can explain more detailed how the block teaching works with placements/theory based learning and how long each block is, thanks

The Block method I think is about doing theory in particular topic or chunk of related area or subject, Then doing the practical for the same subject or area, that was my understanding when I went to DMU in Midwifery talk this year as I was also an applicant for the subject.

Hey there 😁
Congratulations! Are you excited? 🤩
You’ll dive into one module at a time, with four blocks spanning 7 weeks each, excluding Enhancement Weeks - breaks from teaching that give you a chance to catch up - and holiday breaks. Typically, you’ll have around 30 hours of theoretical teaching per week, though this evolves as the course goes on, with more emphasis on self-directed learning and additional reading. The final module, and the last block, is where you’ll get hands-on with practice-based learning.
