Will student Finance Fund me help

Hi I’m a final year law student who due circumstances surrounding my registered learning / long term disability ( registered with SFE) was unable to complete some of my final year courseworks.

I previously did a foundation year at the university of law after passing my foundation year . I transferred to a University in wales for first year . I have passed and progressed and I am in third year at the moment .

Due to the regulations with SFE financing , im a bit confused as to what my options are as funding university myself ( tuition and maintenance ) would be near impossible.

My question is: will I likely be granted student finance ( tuition and maintenance ) for repeating a year due to my disability? ( I can get a letter from gp/ psychiatrist
to further support my claim )
I have heard there is something called “compelling personal reasons” would the impacts of my disability be valid grounds ?

I am panicking so much as to my options and what steps to take next. I deeply don’t want my future prospects to be comprised due to my disability

any advice or guidance appreciated

Hi amber2106,

If you require an additional year for a repeat, you can provide your evidence of Compelling Personal Reasons (CPR) to show why you require the additional year. We can accept a letter from a 3rd party professional such as a GP/medical professional who can confirm what happened, when this happened and how this directly impacted your studies.

Thanks, Clare
