Unsure about the strength of my up-coming Medicine Application.

Hey, I'll try and keep this short, I appreciate any insight or advice and will answer any questions if you have any.

TLTR: I'm concerned I have 0 in-person clinical WEX, should i worry about this?

I just finished year 13 in June and am going into a gap year. My situation is fairly complicated since I didn't do Chemistry A-Level but am keen on doing med, so I'm doing Chemistry A-Level during my gap year doing all exams next exam cycle. I'm hoping to apply this October.

In terms of "Super-curriculars" or "Extra-curriculars" (not really sure what these mean or their differences) but, I have done the following:

10 Months Volunteering in a Care Home

Medic Mentor 6 Months Virtual WEX

BSMS Virtual WEX

Virtual Observe GP

Medical based reading (Being mortal + When Breath Becomes Air)

I fear my personal statement won't be strong enough due to having no in-person, clinical/hospital related WEX, as its been literally impossible for me to find anything, and trust me I have tried. Is this an issue i shouldn't worry about? This is the main thing I'm concerned about.

In terms of grades, My GCSE's are 6A*'s 3A's 3B's (a*'s including maths, eng lang, bio) (a's including chem), I'm welsh so we still use lettered grades for GCSE's.

Today I got my A-Level Results and got A* A* A A, (A*'s being Biology + IT) (A's being Computer Science + Welsh Baccalaureate, similar to epq)

I haven't yet sat my UCAT.

Thanks

you have to do wex, it is a requirement for most med schools, try bsms virtual wex if you really cant find any. are there any hospitals/gp surgeries you can call up and ask if you could volunteer/shadow there?
