Btec results are showing as pending?

My daughters Btec results are showing as pending? Uni cannot confirm her place, offers in clearing cannot use these results and college aren't back until next week. Back plans in clearing are now disappearing as getting full so unsure what to do. Her uni place cannot offer any help or advise and she is at risk of losing her offer?

Where are they showing as "pending"? Colleges typically ask students to pick-up their results in person (on paper), e-mail then the results, or have students access them on some college portal. Which was it in this case?

Was there really no-one from the college available yesterday? No-one was around to support students on results day, to help them with Clearing or with a Review of Marking - both or which are time critical?

Or were there people there yesterday for this, but not today?

This means that the BTEC exam board has not supplied her grade to UCAS.
This could be because of missing info/grades from the college or a glitch by the exam board.

Get down to that college and bang on the door - someone will be there.
Get them onto this asap - its their problem to sort out.
Get the number of the exam board and phone them as well.
Create noise. Be embarrassing and a nuisance. You will get action.

This is awful for your daughter - as a Uni professional, I'm so sorry this has happened to her.
If she does miss out this year then a purposeful gap year doing something fun and reapplying for 2025 would be the best tactic.

It is showing on her Ucas when she logged on. We have also had notification from the Uni saying that they haven't had the results sent across. The only person that can help her is her tutor who is off until Monday.

Thank you, I have spoken to someone at college and sent an email to her tutor who is off until Monday. We now thi k it is due to a incomplete log book on her placement (she did a year placement). She couldn't get a signature from the placement due to it being closed as on holiday so couldn't submit the evidence on time for the deadline.
If this was the case I am unsure why it just doesn't show as a fail?

Her BTEC grades / results won't be shown in UCAS anyway. When she filled-out her UCAS application form, she'll have entered details of any qualifications she's currently working towards, leaving the grade as "Pending". The college will normally have then changed this to a predicted grade (although students don't get to see that prediction). So I suspect that the fact that she's seeing "Pending" in the Education section of her application is not unexpected. I'm fairly sure that this section doesn't update when (if) UCAS receive her grades. As it says on Dispelling the myths about A level results day and Clearing, "You will not see your A level results in Track. Your school or college will give these to you." (They mean UCAS Hub, not Track, and obviously you're talking about BTECs not A levels, but I'm sure the same logic applies.)

However, clearly the uni haven't received her grades from UCAS, because UCAS haven't received them from Pearson (who own the BTEC brand). I assume that this means the status of her application to her firm choice is "Waiting for confirmation". Is that correct?

Normally, in addition to the exam board supplying grades to UCAS who then forward them to the unis, the exam board will also send the results to the school/college, who will then pass them to students. Before results day, did your college provide any information about how your daughter would receive / collect her grades?

Hey same thing happened to me, I got an email from the uni to send them my results so I did and from yesterday I firmed my offer. I got a bit worried too but just sent them your result and you should be good.

College have sent her grades now but uni won't take them as they aren't on official papers showing her name, course ucas number. We have been told to wait until Monday when the results may show on ucas. It has been a nightmare- all due to results being pending!

OK. Well it's great that you've got the grades. How did you manage that?

Presumably somebody at college needed to send some missing piece of information to Pearson? (You mentioned an "incomplete log book on her placement" above.)

So, on Monday morning, who do you chase? Pearson to send her results to UCAS? UCAS to send her results to the uni? Or college to get her grades on headed paper etc.?
