Failed Second Year because of 2 assignments

Basically I study Biomedical Sciences @westminster but for my second year I got under 40% for three of my assignments.

Meaning they failed me completely for those 3 modules. They’re telling me I have to resit the whole of year 2 again based on the single assignments I failed. This has me really stressed and anxious because I really need to graduate this year does anyone have any advice on what to do?

To enhance for my second year I was going thru extreme health and financial issues and was working and have medical evidence too. I have applied for MC. But I want to know if there’s anyway I can redo my failed modules in my third year?

Any advice? Really stressed and anxious
Hi Anon 1,

I'm really sorry to hear about your situation and what you've had to go through. Its a toughie to answer on here because the module/year resit policies differ so much from uni to uni. I would say your best bet would be to chat to your personal tutor and/or your admissions team to see what they can do to help. I'd also definitely make use of student support/services to see if you can get yourself some help for your stress and anxiety - you don't deserve to go through this without help. What do you think @University of Westminster?

Hope this helps, best of luck and stay strong

Thank you,I have spoken to my person tutor and she was not veryhelpful if honest. But I was told to apply for mitigating circumstances but I don’t want to waste a whole year doing three assignments. I’ve been told there are ways to resit these during my third year. But so far no one has helped me or helped me explore options even though usually I’ve been told my uni is helpful in these matters 😕

And I’ve been referred to student well being but yet again the unknowing of the outcome is just giving me extreme anxiety to the point where it is making it difficult to get on with day to day life 😕 so yeah but thanks!

3 modules out of how many?

Realistically, 3 modules is an issue. And the challenges you had going in in the year, unless they have all miraculously just ceased to be, then the idea that in your 3rd year you could do the full year, plus 3 previously failed modules is just unrealistic.

You are probably best engaging with them and arranging to resit your second year, just doing the 3 modules, consolidating you knowledge, recovering your health, saving more, and preparing yourself to ace your final year.

3 modules out of 6 but I only need the two to pass not the third. And it isn’t me failing the whole modules completely I passed most of it and only failed on one assignment for each one. So they’re failing me for the whole module if that makes sense?

So I passed 2 out of 3 assignments (got 60%+ ) for each module and because of one assignment for each they have failed me.

I got 39% and 38% for two modules (basically nearly a pass) so close to passing hence why I’m very persistent to find a solution.

Unfortunately, from an academic perspective, that looks like you aren't up to the standard across a span of the subject. It might be easier to condone progression if it was one specific, narrow aspect you were struggling with.

You need to spend your energy on working with likely outcomes, not investing in something that isn't likely to happen.
